Yosef Joseph Yaakov Dadoune - Fresh Light - Arnaud Bizalion 2021
Joseph Dadoune (drawings), Donatien Grau (text)
Book, Studio, Museum, Laboratory. Yosef Joseph Yaakov Dadoune’s notebook is a travel diary: each drawing was made at a place where he was sojourning, while on "holiday.” Dadoune uses pastel to create the physical aspect of accumulated material. Pastel remains constantly alive: even when fixed, it never leaves its own unsettled aspect. This notebook, albeit not produced in the artist's routine workplace, is his paradoxical studio. It is where things that will later further develop throughout his practice are invented, defined, redefined. DG
