INJAS DEVOLDERE - COLORPOLIS
Book launch Friday March 27 6PM
In collaboration with Artha Books
Music by Elias Devoldere
“Injas Devoldere becomes the master of inconspicuous sights, revealing the extraordinary hidden in the mundane.”
“His eye is a telescope, focused on the grandeur within the smallest details.”
“The world within that square is not a constructed composition, not a slice cut from the universe, nor an enlarged detail, but an objet trouvé.”
“The potential for slipping away renders beauty something ‘fleeting’ rather than a phenomenon rigidly fixed or enshrined within a canon.”
“Colorpolis embraces the noble ambition of harvesting colourful fragments during life’s wanderings, in places and moments where they are least expected.”
Injas Devoldere (b. 1963) studied printmaking and painting. His work encompasses paintings, screen prints, videos, installations, tapestries and theatre sets, and he is also a creator and curator of art projects. He previously realised the book Toscania and the video project Poèros, each in close collaboration with artists from other disciplines.
