For this second edition of Writing One Text with Multiple People, Ief Spincemaille brings together artists Maika Garnica, Bart Lodewijks, Gijs Coenen and Line Boogaerts, together with Adinda Van Geystelen, director of Z33, and Priscilla Van Even, researcher.

People will sit, lie, hang and stand together on and around a 60-metre-long blue Rope. Together, and in silence, everyone present will read a short text. Written by Ief Spincemaille, it reflects on the relationships that artworks can establish with a world outside themselves — a shared interest among the invited guests.

The collective reading will be followed by an open conversation with the invited guests and the audience. The entire discussion will be audio-recorded. Spincemaille will then create a textual collage using the exact sentences from the transcript. Writing One Text with Multiple People; #2 is a format for creating a single text out of the thoughts and voices of a larger group.

The evening also marks the launch of a new publication tracing Rope’s journey through Brussels.
