About Saint-Martin Bookshop
Welcome
For years, we have been collecting books, mostly art books.
In 2020, we found the perfect location and opened our own bookshop with a curated selection. Small editions of artists books, rare catalogues of modern & contemporary artists, books for art collectors, some art and fashion magazines. We offer new and second-hand art books.
Saint-Martin Bookshop is a unique space open to everyone.
A Bookstore as an Archive
Saint-Martin Bookshop is dedicated to:
- contemporary art,
- fashion,
- artists’ books,
- photography,
- architecture,
- independent publishing,
- rare and out-of-print editions.
The selection follows intuition rather than trends.
Books are chosen for their lasting relevance, visual intelligence and cultural resonance — whether they come from major institutions, independent publishers or underground scenes.
Our name
Saint Martin of Tours has become one of the most familiar and recognizable saint in Western Europe. The veneration of Martin was widely popular in the Middle Ages. In Belgium, on Saint Martin’s Day children traditionally receive presents from Saint Martin.
We will use his sword as a symbol and will perpetuate the tradition to gifted all the young ones on Nov 10th with typical Saint Martin’s buns (craquandoules, follard, voelaeren & cougnou).
Also, it's clear that our name is an hommage to our house's previous owner :-)

Our logo is a sword
Not because it stands for power.
Because it stands for sharing.
According to the legend, Saint Martin used his sword to cut his cloak in two so he could share it with a stranger.
We like that gesture.
Every day, we use our own sword to cut through the endless flow of publications, choosing the books worth passing on.
Every book that leaves Saint-Martin Bookshop carries a small piece of that symbolic cloak: art, ideas, curiosity and culture, shared with someone new.
The sword is our logo.
Sharing is what it stands for.
