Maxime Le Bon collects and stores lots of documents he finds on the street. Most of them are printed or cut out from newspapers, magazines, advertisements, errata, and fragments of texts from abandoned books. To this gathering process, Le Bon adds his improvised photographs and drawings. Later, Le Bon rearranges and slips his heterogeneous collection into punched pockets and binders, where he stores them indefinitely. Unstable and constantly changing, his unpredictable archive grows with the years. It sediments layers of experiences and constitutes this extensive deposit from which all sorts of fragmentary narratives and accidental arrangements can emerge.

In the exhibition space, Le Bon often displays the photographs, pictures, drawings from those binders and also handmade reproductions of printed images. For these laboured reproductions, he employs a personal technique he developed over the years, using oil and graphite.

Maxime Le Bon (°1989) is an artist based in Brussels. Former resident at Wiels, he has shown his work in Brussels at Affiliate, Spare Wheel, Rue du Chapeau 10/Gevaert Edition and also at SIS123, La Chaux-de-fonds, in Switzerland, 50Litre, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, B09k, Changsha, China.
