BACK TO BOOKS. BY BASE
Friday April 4 2025
Vernissage
Base takes you on a journey through its early years in print and editorial (1992–2010)—a time before social networks began their takeover of our minds. This is not just a book exhibition—it's a (re)collection of rule-breaking, risk-taking, and ink-scented objects.
On display: collaborations with artists like Joseph Kosuth, Steve McQueen, Kendell Geers, and Jeff Koons (to name a few); exhibition catalogs (Chanel, Bozar); magazines (Interview, BEople); special editions; self-promotional oddities; and commissioned works for both emerging and established stars of the time (Isabella Rossellini, Tupac, Kanye West).
These printed creations embody Base's designers' insatiable appetite for risk, their (sometimes immature) desire to question the very nature of the book, and—above all—a fearless yet naïve candor.
