Author:
Michael Lin

Book:
From February 4 to May 26, 2020, Michael Lin (b. 1964, Tokyo, Japan) overlaid the limestone floor of Mexico city's brutalist Museo Jumex with a hand-painted bouquet derived from the plastic tablecloths of the city's diners and road-side stands. Mariposa B1-09 chronicles lin's 1,300 square meter installation of the same name, including photographs of each of its panels after the work’s deinstallation, ephemera from the artist's extensive research into the advertisements and manufacturing processes of Mexican paint manufacturer Comex, and an essay by curator Kit Hammonds.
