Maisons d'art moderne - MER. Books 2020
In Maisons d'art moderne, Tanguy Eeckhout sketches a history of Belgian collections of modern art with a focus on two generations: the "culture generators" from 1945 to 1965, and the "avant-gardists", who entered the international art world in full force between 1960 and 1989 and were no longer restricted to Belgian borders or traditional media.
Maisons d'art moderne is based on the unfinished doctoral thesis of Tanguy Eeckhout, art historian and curator of the Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens who died unexpectedly in 2018. Edited by Steven Jacobs & Maarten Liefhooghe.
