Kevin Lyons — Pussy and Papers, Poetry, Power and Pistols is a retrospective of the New York graphic designer and illustrator’s T-shirt work, covering more than 500 designs produced between 1989 and 2006.
His work brings together references from hip-hop, music, sport, politics and popular culture, with projects connected to figures and brands such as Tokion, Stones Throw, Nike, Stüssy and 555 Soul. The book captures the crossover between underground graphics, streetwear and contemporary art that defined much of the visual culture of the period.
