Bradford Mark

Mark Bradford - Trough darkest America by truck and tank - White Cube 2013

Published on the occasion of Mark Bradford’s 2013 exhibition at White Cube Bermondsey, London. The publication documents a series of large-scale collaged paintings inspired by the American interstate highway system and its social consequences, particularly the destruction of urban communities. Working with layers of billboard paper, posters and newsprint, Bradford builds abstract surfaces marked by ruptures, incisions and shifting topographical references. Includes a conversation between the artist and Susan May, and an essay by Christopher Bedford.
