William Kentridge - Waiting for the Sibyl - Koenig Books 2020

This libretto of William Kentridge’s (born 1955) chamber opera Waiting for the Sibyl, was made for the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and first performed there in September 2019. The images and phrases were projected on variously sized screens in the opera, sometimes in sync with the sung text, sometimes independently. In the opera production, the right-hand page generally featured text, and the left-hand page a mixture of drawings and the shadow of a dancer cast onto its surface.
