Magdalena Pilko - Adagio III - 2013

The artist:
After studing photography in Vienna and The Hague, Magdalena Pilko (born in Austria, 1979) often emphasizes the ephemeral character of the moment and its relation to the photographic medium in her projects. Her work being an exercise in attention and close observation. In 2013, she took up conservation studies at the UvA in Amsterdam at which she is currently following the master in photo conservation. Adagio III traces a backyard in a winterly city. M.P. invites the viewer to take a closer look and question some of the presumed characteristics of photography.
