Andreas Gursky - Museum Frieder Burda / Steidl 2015
Edited by Udo Kittelmann.
Published for the Andreas Gursky exhibition at the Museum Frieder Burda. The presentation focuses on his most famous pictorial inventions, which have long since entered the collective visual memory of a globalised art world, as well as on lesser-known motifs, including a large-format painting that is currently being created and will have its premiere in Baden-Baden. The catalogue takes up the selection of images made for Baden-Baden and explains their artistic and curatorial approach. The exemplary dialogue between images and editorial texts from the national and international daily press and other socially relevant media illustrates the relationship between construction and reconstruction.
