Tomio Mohri - Costume-Installation - Rikuyosha Publishing 1990

Tomio Mohri is famous for his costume designs and installations of exhibitions, but he also works as stage designer, director and author. He is also greatly interested in the problem of relationship between movement and space and he tries to solve it with multi-media-means.
For many years he was artistic director for the exhibitions of Issay Miyake. He developed a new style of visual performance for them which is still considered exemplary. Among his creations were Issay Miyake A un at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris as well as exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco and the V&A Museum in London.
Forworded by Toru Iwakiri, this large-scale book beautifully documents Mohri's work with views of costume-installation, costume, show, and space in powerfull colors. Photographed by Kazumi Kurigami, directed by Masatoshi Toda.
