ENCENS - Another & others (volume 2) - 2007
Published twice a year since 2002, ENCENS is focused on fashion as artform from the perspective of designers rather than trends. The magazine investigate new forms of dressing from past to present with probing interviews, extensive use of photography and vintage, and dynamic layout.
This collector's issue is the result of a workshop between the magazine and students from two French high schools in Reims and Epernay.
Far from a simple proliferation, the images and words on these thirty-six precious pages "made by ENCENS", point to a community of chromosomes. Grace Coddington, Tony Viramontes, Serge Lutens, Leslie Winer; all, among others, have contributed to injecting a serum of otherness into the aesthetic race, inventing forms of beauty on the run, flowing away from predictable paths.
