Sneaker Freaker x Nike - Genealogy of Innovation 1971-2014

Rare copy of the iconic edition published by the sneakers magazine Sneaker Freaker to celebrate Nike’s Genealogy of Innovation exhibition.
During the 2014 FIFA World Cup, a pop-up space called Phenomenal House appeared in Paris, London and Berlin. Inside these spaces housed Nike’s Genealogy of Innovation exhibition, a retrospective of over 200 Swoosh silhouettes that mapped out 40-plus years of development.

The core of the book is an in-depth study of these 200 game-changing Nike shoes and football boots, illustrating how Nike’s modern football innovations such as the Magista and Mercurial Superfly have been shaped by Nike technologies developed over the past 40 years. Extensive interviews with Nike designers including Tinker Hatfield, Martin Lotti and Denis Dekovic offer an insider’s look at how these innovative projects come to fruition.
Produced in true Sneaker Freaker style, the book is laden with vintage Nike advertising, rarely seen prototypes and Nike design sketches.
Officially, only 10 copies of Genealogy of Innovation were publicly available as a giveaway, and never intended for retail release.
