The furniture of Fabiaan Van Severen is often referred to as being minimalistic. Yet this title is based on what appears to be seen, on the austerity and simplicity that are exuded by his furniture's. Design comes from inside, the different parts are in harmony with themselves and the totality. The human being is the criterion he uses when creating appliances-the quality of the meeting of object and person determines the success of the piece of work. So much so that many of Van Severen's pieces of furniture seem to have always been there. They are so obvious that, by using them, they can almost be forgotten!
