Ellsworth Kelly - Die Jahre in Frankreich 1948-1954 - Prestel 1992

Published on the occasion of the exhibition held at Westfälischen Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte Münster, National Gallery of Art Washington and Jeu de Paume, Paris in 1992. This publication serves as a catalogue raisonné of Kelly's paintings during the six years covered by the exhibition. During his journey to France, he achieved his mature style, becoming familiar with the contemporary art scene in addition to discovering the visual stimuli of Romanesque and Byzantine art. He produced a vast number of drawings that are included with the paintings - many of witch are studies for the pictures.
