Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker - Rosas danst Rosas - Rosas 1983
Original envelope containing a very precious booklet of Rosas danst Rosas, the 1983's mythical dance piece by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. This work has since become a benchmark in the history of postmodern dance. Rosas danst Rosas builds on the minimalism initiated in Fase (1982): abstract movements form the basis of a layered choreographic structure in which repetition plays the leading role. The intensity of these movements is countered by small, everyday gestures. Rosas danst Rosas is resolutely feminine: four dancers dance themselves, over and over again. The associated exhaustion and perseverance create an emotional charge that contrasts sharply with the rigorous structure of the choreography. The repetitive, maximalist music by Thierry De Mey and Peter Vermeersch was created at the same time as the choreography.
This trilingual edition contains texts by Anne Teresa and Thierry De Mey and beautifully printed images on the theme of holograms.
