Sound Chronicle - Self-published 2024
A compilation of personal experiences with individuals who dedicated their lives to sound.
The journey begins in the historical jazz and audio kissas (cafes) of Japan. From there it progresses to Terry Riley passing down Indian raga in Japan, sound artist Akio Suzuki’s 60 years beyond the mountain echo, and the half-century bond between 93 years old jazz pianist, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and her world’s craziest listener.
Originally crafted for personal memory, Sound Chronicle has become an evolving book. Each successive edition is dedicated to continuous improvement, made with local resources, and handbound with the traditional Japanese binding method Retchoso.
