This publication explores the artistic creative process through the work and studio practice of Sophie Whettnall. Besides illustrations of Whettnall's art, the book also includes three conversations. The first, between Sophie Whettnall and Marina Abramovic, explores themes of transference, violence and femininity. The second, between Emiliano Battista and Scott Samuelson, places Whettnall's oeuvre and art practice in the broader context of contemporary art and its underlying theoretical framework. In the third conversation, Carine Fol and Whettnall share with the reader the behind-the-scenes discussions and decisions that precede the construction of an exhibition.
