Paris-Berlin: 1900-1933 - Centre Georges Pompidou 1978
Published on the occasion of the exhibition Paris-Berlin: rapports et contrastes France-Allemagne 1900-1933 held at Centre Pompidou Paris in 1978.
Curated by Pontus Hulten, Jean-Hubert Martin and Werner Spies, the exhibition, which took place between Paris-New York the previous year and Paris-Moscow the following, presented a key moment in the cultural history of the 20th century: the relationship between France and Germany, which for a century shaped European civilization as a "clash" of two temperaments. To this end, the catalog meticulously studies artistic, architectural, graphic, literary, industrial, cinematographic, theatrical and musical productions between 1900 and 1933.
